Reaction of [5]lithiotrovacene (TVC-Li) with tin dichloride affords the triradical complex (THF)3Li+[(TVC)3SnCl2]− which was characterized by X-ray crystallography, cyclic voltammetry, EPR spectroscopy and magnetic susceptometry; redox splittings δE1/2 (“electrocommunication”) and the exchange parameters JEPR and Jχ (“magnetocommunication”) attest to inter vanadium interactions mediated by the central tin atom.
